RRG Group have just released their newest gem of a Toyota Yaris hybrid – and it fits all the criteria of an ideal car for millennials.

Getting a car is something that may have crossed your mind on your daily commute to work. Waiting in the rain for the bus, squashed between screaming kids on the tram or sitting with someone’s armpit to the face on the train isn’t most people’s idea of a good time.

If you’re sick of the public transport game and tired of driving your mum’s beat up Micra, we’re here to help.

The Toyota Yaris hybrid is the one featured in the video and it’s a practical and roomy supermini that’s also very easy to drive and super cheap to run. If you’re still ‘umming’ and ‘ahing’ about what car to get, here’s a bit more information to help you decide.

Exterior design

Look at this car. How comfortable does the Toyota Yaris hybrid look? Very comfortable indeed. If you like keeping up with the newest trends, this one’s for you. The Yaris’ front fascia is distinguished by a subtle chrome X-design that artfully connects sleek headlights and a multi-louvered radiator grille. Also included as standard are 15-inch alloy wheels and body-coloured fixtures, such as door mirrors. Illumination includes projector headlights and chrome-trimmed front fog lamps. Design grades add a gloss-black honeycomb grille, a rear spoiler, LED daytime running lights and LED tail lights. The same grade can also be specified with one of two bi-tone paint finishes, allowing you to choose black or white as the car’s main colour.

Performance

A 1.0-litre 69bhp petrol engine is fitted as standard. Mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, this delivers up to 65.7mpg and a 99g/km CO2 emissions figure.Toyota Yaris hybrid models come with a 1.4-litre 90bhp petrol-electric engine paired with six-speed manual transmission. This returns as much as 85.6mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 75g/km.

Technology

A six-speaker sound system includes an MP3-compatible CD player and an AM/FM radio – the base sounds great at full blast and also more conservative volumes should you choose them (but, of course you won’t). Icon grades and higher come with a Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system which includes DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and a reversing camera. The Yaris comes with Euro NCAP’s maximum five star crash-test rating.

Interior design

There’s space for five people to travel in comfort, plenty of leg and headroom, and the driver benefits from a height-adjustable seat. Standard features include power-operated front windows with one-touch and anti-trap facility on the driver’s side along with air conditioning.

Icon grades also feature a three-spoke leather steering wheel and gear shift knob, while design trims add a leather parking brake. The vehicle’s 286-litre boot space can be expanded to 768 litres with rear seats folded. Just imagine the things you can do with all that space.

If you’re young – or not so young – and you want a car that represents you, the Toyota Yaris hybrid gives you something to think about. If you want a car that brings the fun back into driving with rocket-fast acceleration, insane braking and blissful cruising, this one’s a winner. It’s the perfect machine for millennials.

The Yaris hasn’t always been the most fashionable of cars on the market, but that’s all changed. Haters gonna hate, but you know you’ve got the upper hand.
