It doesn’t get more Christmassy than The Snowman. The animated film version of Raymond Briggs’ magical book for kids has been enchanting children – and many adults – for nearly 40 years

Now an enchanting, live performance of The Snowman performed by Manchester Camerata is flying on to The Orient main stage at intu Trafford Centre in December.

Manchester Camerata are a collection of artists, thinkers and storytellers led by music director, Gábor Takács-Nagy, who have collaborated with international artists including New Order, Martha Argerich, William Basinski and Lewis Capaldi and have appeared at Glastonbury, The Royal Albert Hall, Mayfield Depot, HOME and YES.

They have been described by The Times as ‘Probably Britain’s most adventurous orchestra’ by The Times.

This free, festive family show will take place on the main stage in The Orient on Friday 6 December, with performances at 5pm and 6.30pm.

To celebrate, Café Rouge has introduced a limited edition The Snowman Afternoon Tea to ring in the Christmas season until 5th Jan. This ultimate indulgent treat includes three tiers of scrumptious sweets, scones and a delightful festive feast with a very special festive croque.

And you can enjoy other exciting, feel-good festive events and activities, including the Peter Rabbit Christmas Grotto, local choir and brass band performances, and the return of the Alpine Village.

Alison Niven, centre director at intu Trafford Centre, said: “We’re delighted to welcome back Manchester Camerata, who are guaranteed to deliver an unmissable performance.

The Snowman is a classic Christmas film that is much-loved by generations, so we hope that it gets everyone in the festive mood and makes the whole family smile.”
