New restaurant and bar The Blues Kitchen arrived in Manchester in May, bringing a flavour of the Deep South to Quay Street with live music seven nights a week.

As well as a restaurant and bar on the ground floor and a stunning concert hall on the first floor, it’s also got a private dining room – perfect for special occasions and celebrations for up to 14 guests whether it’s birthdays, family get-togethers, hen-dos or corporate business meetings.

The private dining room is located downstairs, just aside from the restaurant –  so although you’ll get privacy, it also means you won’t miss out on the dynamic ambience of the venue.

Boozy brunch, The Blues Kitchen style

Surrounded by the original stained glass windows from an abandoned church in Queens, New York in addition to the wooden interior from an old city hall in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the room has a long, communal table where guests can get together to enjoy the eye-catching interior, delicious menu and eclectic drink selection.

And it’s not just about evening celebrations, either – you can also book out the space for a belting brunch.

Served at either 11am or 2pm, guests can choose from a range of tasty options on the brunch menu, whether it’s buttermilk pancakes with bacon and Maple syrup, Creole crab Benedict, or their Big Bluesy Breakfast.

There are vegetarian and vegan options, too, including sweet potato hash with eggs and spinach, avocado on sourdough toast with pickled cucumber and toasted sesame, or a Big Vegan Breakfast which features Cajun spiced tomato and chipotle BBQ beans.

Then there’s the cracking cocktail list, which includes a Bloody Mary with Cajun spice, a Burnt Pear Old Fashioned, a Marmalade Cup, and a Rhubarb Sour.

Brunch just got a whole lot more fun.

Supper celebrations with flavours of the Deep South

If you’re looking to celebrate into the night, you can also book the space for supper at 6pm or 9pm, for parties of 9-14 guests.

Guests can choose from a two or three course menu, with starters including The Blues Kitchen’s famous Buffalo chicken wings with a blue cheese dip, padron peppers with sea salt and vegan chipotle mayo, and a hot spinach and artichoke dip with blue corn tortilla.

When it comes to mains, the flavours are inspired by the Deep Southern states of America – think St Louis pork ribs slow-cooked over American hickory, a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with hot Buffalo sauce, or a shrimp taco salad which features grilled tiger prawns, baby gem, feta, avocado, sun dried tomato and coriander dressing served in a taco bowl.

There are burgers, too, including a classic cheeseburger with grass fed beef, American cheese and Big Mac sauce, and a vegan Moving Mountains burger with vegan gouda and vegan Big Mac sauce.

Desserts are just as tempting, whether you go for a peanut butter and jelly ice cream sandwich, a warm dark chocolate brownie with Madagascan vanilla ice cream, or the coconut chocolate chip ice cream.

And the best bit? No pre-order is required, so guests can choose whatever they fancy on the day.

Bespoke celebrations for larger parties

Fancy celebrating in vintage luxury style?

Larger parties of 15-25 guests looking for somewhere private to celebrate in style should check out The Blues Kitchen’s 1950s Airstream caravan.

With bespoke drinks packages, you can choose any of your favourite tipples, alongside moreish bar food from crispy Cajun popcorn squid and spicy Buffalo wings to sweet Oreo doughnuts.

Table service from their waiting staff means you can keep the food and drink flowing throughout.

What better way to celebrate finally being able to get together for life’s special occasions again?
