New clear bag policy

For anyone heading to Manchester Pride Live on the Saturday and Sunday, there are new rules on what bags are allowed inside Mayfield.

To ensure the safety of everyone in attendance, there we will be a strict clear bag ONLY policy.

Bags will need to be 100% transparent, and ALL items inside the bag must be visible. Holographic/iridescent/clear bags with a coloured tinge will not be permitted.

Information from Pride states: “Security at Manchester Pride Live will be strict and precise. If you attempt to bring a bag outside of the specifications detailed, entry will be refused. Please note that there are no locker facilities at Manchester Pride Live, so any unsuitable bags will need to be left at home or at your accommodation for the weekend.

“This policy applies to Manchester Pride Live only. You are still able to bring items in your pockets as normal. The clear bag policy is in place for your safety.”

It is only one bag per person, and they must not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″.

Location

Manchester Pride Live 2019 will take place at Mayfield Manchester, which is just a few minutes walk from Manchester Piccadilly railway station and from the Piccadilly Metrolink tram stop.

It’s around a ten minute walk to the Gay Village, which will be very clearly signposted on a walking route along Fairfield Street and Whitworth Street during the Pride festival.

The address for the venue is Fairfield Street, Manchester, M1 2QF.

From Mayfield, it’s around a ten minute walk to the bustling Northern Quarter, and around 20 minutes into the main city centre.

Mayfield is a former railway depot that is being transformed into a multi-purpose events space, and for the Pride Live event will utilise a host of new sections of the vast site for different event stages and entertainment zones.
