Manchester is getting a Pokémon-themed bar, complete with Pokémon-inspired burgers, Pokémon-inspired cocktails and, of course, a real life version of the popular card and Nintendo game – and we can’t wait to catch them all.

Based on Pikachu, Charmander and Squirtle, the burgers look almost too cute to eat – but we’re happy to make a concession in the name of nostalgia and satisfying our inner child’s hardcore Poké-fandom.

Wannabe Pokémon masters can hunt, catch, and battle their characters IRL at the pop-up, which is the first of its kind and will be landing in Manchester later this year.

It will be divided into seven of the major regions of the Pokémon universe – Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola – and gamers will have 2-hour windows in which to hunt, battle and ‘catch them all’.

For the competitive fans among us, there will be some awesome Pokémon prizes up for grabs for division winners who complete all seven regions in the two hours, as well as prizes for best fancy dress.

The unofficial pop-up is being organised by immersive Australian events company Viral Ventures who were behind previous Manchester pop-ups the Lego bar and Mario Kart-themed go-kart races.

It’s touring the US this summer, after which it’s coming to five cities in the the UK later this year including Manchester.

Dates are yet to be announced, but you can register your interest on their website to be the first to hear when tickets go live.
