This Valentine’s, The Village Screen are making their long-awaited return to Manchester’s Grade ll listed Victoria Baths, and turning the Gala Pool into a pop-up cinema.

The Edwardian grandeur of Manchester’s water palace will be the perfect backdrop for enjoying romantic films at their best, on the big screen.

Snuggle up in the deep end with your loved ones, with screenings of Tina Fey’s Mean Girls on Thursday 10th February and Tarantino’s masterpiece, True Romance on Friday 11th February.

The Village Screen have been hosting cinematic events at Victoria Baths since 2016 and they are excited to return this February to transform this unique and historic venue into the perfect Valentine’s and Galentine’s cinema, to enjoy with your pals, gals and loves.

Victoria Baths dates back to 1906, with floor to ceiling tiling, detailed mosaic flooring and exquisite stained-glass windows.

Guests can choose to snuggle down on cute, candy-striped deckchairs inside the once Gala Pool to watch the films, or on original wooden seating overlooking the pool, on the Balcony level.

The Village Screen are a small, independent, event production team, who have been running experiential, cinematic events in Sheffield, Manchester and across the UK for the past six years.

Expect amazing pre-show entertainment, beautiful, themed décor and a downright cute and cosy atmosphere.

As always, there will be a choice of delicious and independent street food options available, with the perfect match of drinks and snacks, including hot chocolates, themed cocktails, Prosecco, freshly cooked popcorn and more.

You can even write a love letter to your special someone, to be shown on the big screen, or add a snuggle package to your ticket to make it an extra cosy date night to remember.

Up first on the big screen is the hilarious Mean Girls. Written by Tina Fey, this totally fetch film sees new girl Cady Heron trying to navigate her way through high school and becoming a hit with the top girl group, The Plastics.

All is going swimmingly until she makes the mistake of falling for the Queen Bee’s ex-boyfriend, Aaron Samuels. What could possibly go wrong?

Grab your besties for this laugh out loud narrative of high school hierarchies.

The next day brings an epic screening of the Tarantino cool classic and the ultimate in dark, funny and violent – True Romance.

This film sees a comic-book nerd marry an ex-prostitute, then accidently steal a suitcase of cocaine from her pimp and embark on a dangerous journey whilst being followed by a mafia gang.

Stealing, cheating, killing – who said romance is dead?

Mean Girls is on Thursday 10th February, and True Romance on Friday 11th February. Doors 6pm, films start at 8pm. Pool level tickets, including a deckchair seat are priced at £18 for adults, and £16 for concessions.
