Fed up with fish fingers? Fancy trying some of the finest seafood dish in the city? You’re in luck because Randall & Aubin have launched a new menu specially suited to Mancunians’ taste buds.

The sophisticated Anglo-French brasserie, which has long been a Soho staple famous for its oysters, was brought to Manchester by Chef Ed Baines and restaurauteur Jamie Poulton earlier this year.

Now they’ve had to time to get an idea of what we like, they’ve tweaked the a la carte menu to suit our tastes.

“Our Manchester customers have highlighted they want the best and requested far more of the finest seafood the UK has to offer so we have responded accordingly and hope they will enjoy Randall & Aubin even more,” says Ed.

So say hello to new additions large Orkney diver scallops with cauliflower purée, braised creamed cabbage and sauce pistou (£21); traditional bouillabaisse with mixed prime British coastal fish, spiced croutons & aioli (£14.50); and prime halibut (£24.85) – the fish that some regard as the steak of the sea.

“The demand for Orkney or Cornish diver-caught scallops mean they are now on the menu, in addition to our popular Manx Queenies,” says Ed.

“Our new links to Whitby will bring in more crustaceans and squid. Morecambe bay prawns will also appear on our newly priced daily specials menu.”

The net-to-plate ethos means they only source the best produce directly from local fishermen where possible, which means they only serve up the highest quality and best tasting food.

For meat lovers, rump steak has been replaced on the menu by a 10oz fillet steak on the bone served with truffle dressed water cress & chef’s potatoes (£30). And they will now serve prime Scottish cod fillet with caviar creamed potatoes, buttered mixed vegetables & sauce beurre blanc (£17.50).

And you can enjoy your meal with a clear conscience as all the meat is sourced from Aubrey Allen butchers, meaning it’s farmed with freedom and respect to ensure the best quality possible.

While the menu may be changing, regular diners will be happy to hear that Randall & Aubin’s great value lunch menu will be continuing with seasonal specials that change daily.

Foodies can enjoy starters for £6.50 and mains for £12.50, plus they’ll be serving up  Sunday lunch for £14.50. It’s also worth mentioning that there’s a Martini Monday’s at 4pm and 7pm where you can get two martinis for only £12.

So, if you’ve got an appetite for seafood or rotisserie, get down to Randall & Aubin Manchester quick to be one of the first to try out the new dishes.
