Manchester really loves rice and three diners – probably more than anywhere else in the country.

Apparently, the tradition sprang up in response to demand from hundreds of garment industry workers who arrived from the Indian sub-continent to work here.

Now the tradition has made it to Spinningfields. City slickers will be pleased to know that they can now get a rice and three fix at Thaikhun, with three curries and rice available all day, every day for just £12.50.

Simple as anything to order, first you pick your curry (which comes served with your choice of chicken or tofu), then a noodle dish and a stir fry.

Options include a massaman or green curry, pad thai or beef noodles, and a choice of chicken cashew nut, beef chill and Thai basil, or pork belly in red curry stir fry. As part of the deal you also get a portion of steamed Jasmine rice.

So, next time you’re in need of a rice and three fix, why not give Thaikhun a look in? We will.
