Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is sometimes easier said than done. Even with the best of intentions, sometimes it’s just hard to find the time to get everything done.

Between getting to the gym, doing the food shop and, then, preparing something healthy and nutritionally balanced – on top of all of life’s other demands – often something has to go, and often that something is a nutritionally-balanced diet.

Two men who know this better than most are Will Lee and Matt William – the brains behind Manchester’s new healthy meal delivery service Fit Chef.

Frustrated with quick fixes and misinformation around food and nutrition, they set up Fit Chef to help those wanting to make lasting changes to their diet.

“People are busy and although we are advocates of cooking for yourself, sometimes it’s not possible. That’s the point when reaching for the takeaway menu seems like the only option. Fit Chef prevents that with convenient food that is also healthy,” says Matt.

Both experienced personal trainers and professionally-trained chefs, the pair combine their shared passions for good food and an active, healthy lifestyle with the launch of the new Fit Chef service.

Designed for busy people that love to eat but don’t have the time to cook, all Fit Chef meals are prepared fresh on the day of delivery to ensure maximum flavour and satisfaction.

In designing the meals, the guys have drawn on their professional chef training (Will trained at Gordon Ramsay’s Chef School before going on to develop his skills in Australia whilst Matt trained at Leith’s cookery school in London) and love of travel.

Taking inspiration from travels in New York, California, San Francisco, Australia and Hawaii, Fit Chef dishes combine Will and Matt’s personal training experience with their shared love of travel with a big emphasis on fresh, healthy food from around the world – including dishes suited for vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free diets.

The guys have worked hard to ensure that Fit Chef is not just good for its customers, but good for the environment too.

Everything is delivered in environmentally friendly containers that also give the products a more premium look and feel – and they have taken extra steps to have the meals shelf life tested to ensure they know how long the products will stay fresh for.

“We’ve been really conscious in the entire product development phase to produce something that is as environmentally friendly as possible whilst maintaining the freshness of the food,” Will tells us.

“Our trays have 95% less plastic than typical ‘ready-meal’ trays and can be used in the oven and microwave.”

Following a well-received initial roll out in the Greater Manchester area, Fit Chef has started to deliver nationally too.

Choose from tailored subscription packages or create your own subscription as much or little as you want. Fit Chef meals are made fresh to order for delivery every Tuesday and Friday.

Customers can select their meals each week from fit-chef.co.uk and further developments will see a range of plans to help customers get a package that fits their goals.
