So no need to spend Christmas having a meltdown in your kitchen. Forget the washing up, and let the experts do the hard work for you.
Mamucium
This Christmas, Andrew Green brings flavours of the North to Mamucium’s Christmas menus with a menu full of high quality, locally-sourced produce. On Christmas Day the restaurant is offering six courses for £79.99 (£39.99 for children). Kick things off with canapés before tucking into options of home-cured organic salmon; Goosnargh chicken liver parfait; roulade of local turkey with Cumbria pancetta, Cumberland sausages and all the trimmings; pan-seared fillet of local beef with mini ox cheek pudding; and truffle Jerusalem artichoke and fregola risotto. For dessert, think baked Alaska and salted caramel custard tart.
The Manchester Chop Houses
For those looking for the ultimate traditional Victorian Christmas experience, it has to be lunch at one of the Manchester Chop Houses. Albert’s, Sam’s and Sarah’s all offer beautiful settings, and can be found right at the heart of the city centre. All three sites will be running the same menu, offering a number of traditional favourites on Christmas Day.
Brasserie Abode
Celebrate Christmas Day in Brasserie Abode with five courses and champagne for £99. Start with a glass of fizz before tucking into truffled wild mushroom soup, salmon tartare with iced fennel and orange caviar and roast turkey with all the trimmings. This is followed with a Tunworth cheese plate, fig ball and Quinta do Crasto 2013 late bottled vintage port, Christmas pudding, coffee and mince pies. Vegetarian and vegan menus are available on request. 1.30pm arrival for 2pm sitting.

Great for all the family, its warm and friendly staff will make sure your whole table is entertained. There is a big selection of starters, from soup to tasty Italian meatballs, whilst the main courses combine the best of Italian and English tradition.
San Carlo, King Street West
This elegant Italian restaurant serves Christmas dinner with flair. Enjoy a special festive lunch here with four courses plus a champagne sorbet for £74.95 (£37.50 for children under 12). Traditionalists who can’t go without a Christmas roast will be happy to hear there’ll be turkey, served with chestnut stuffing and chipolatas wrapped in pancetta; herb-crusted rack of lamb served with red wine sauce; and beef fillet cooked in sweet Madeira wine and topped with Tuscan paté. For those seeking something a bit more Mediterranean, escalope of veal, handmade pecorino and truffle ravioli and pan-fried seabass also feature.
Great John Street Hotel
Stunning boutique hotel Great John Street is offering Christmas Day dining to parties of six and over. Arrival champagne, an amuse-bouche, and three courses with options including an 8oz fillet of beef, roasted turkey Ballantine and festive trio of puddings will set you back just £75 here.

This Christmas Day at Browns, take your pick from roast turkey, venison or vegan portobello mushroom, chestnut, walnut and spinach wellington. A Coeliac UK accredited restaurant, they’ll also be offering a gluten-free dinner for those with special dietary requirements. Five courses will set you back £80 (£35 for under 12s).
Zouk Indian Restaurant
Fancy a banquet on the big day? Zouk is well-known for bringing Eastern hospitality and amazing flavours to Christmas dining in Manchester. They open on Christmas Day with a festive banquet for just £35, composed of six courses and available for lunch and dinner. Dishes include the traditional samosa chaat, lamb chops from the grill, luxurious butter chicken, a roasted leg of lamb fit for a Maharajah and chicken berry biryani.
The Lloyds, Chorlton
With real fires, mulled wine and Plum Pudding cask ale, Christmas at The Lloyds in Chorlton is always a cosy affair.
