It’s all been very hush hush but Spinningfields’ new summer bar, The Long Bar, began building works last week and will open in time for the Bank Holiday weekend. The Long Bar is guaranteed to be an exciting addition to the newly landscaped lawns in Hardman Square.

“The Long Bar will be the perfect place to lunch, relax after work and socialise throughout the summer…”

Architectural Imaginer Paul Danson has gone on from designing and producing Manchester’s famous Oast House in the centre of Spinningfields to creating The Long Bar. By joining forces yet again with Michael Ingall, CEO of Allied London, Paul has created another destination attraction, a new bar facility in this bustling and vibrant area of Manchester.

Originally a television and film set designer, Paul Danson has produced not only a bar but an artistic building encapsulating street architecture, sculpture, and public art. His vision involved beautiful back lit metalwork, encapsulating the commercial aspect of Hardman Square, which hosts Manchester’s summer Screenfields.

With floor to ceiling doors that stretch the length of the venue and open on to The Lawns, The Long Bar will be the perfect place to lunch, relax after work and socialise throughout the summer, with a chilled glass of Champagne, delicious cocktail or cold beer.

Add to this a soundtrack of Balearic and soulful grooves, with guest DJs playing Thursday to Sunday and on call to play sunny weekday evenings, The Long Bar will be the place to be this summer.

Daily sandwich specials will make up the delicious lunchtime menu with deli boards and olives, breads and dips complimenting the drinks offering.

The Long Bar is an innovative design that boasts a sculpted metal exoskeleton with a retractable, transparent inner lining that allows 3 sides of the venue to open up and a terrace with outdoor seating.

On beautiful days The Long Bar will have exclusive access to parts of The Lawns, making the venue the perfect space for special occasions and company parties. The Lawns and venue are available for exclusive hire.

The Long Bar is the first venue of newly formed Spinningfields Events Ltd, a joint venture between Allied London (Spinningfields) and Living Ventures (The Oast House, Australasia, The Alchemist) and will be run by Phil Dawson, who brought Pin-up Bowling Lanes to Spinningfields in 2011. It has been designed by PDI, the team behind the landscaping of Hardman Square and The Oast House.
