Overall purpose:
In 2021 Breaking Barriers expanded into Greater Manchester and Birmingham with a contract to deliver the Refugee Transitions and Outcomes Fund (RTOF), a social impact bond focused on employability support for refugee communities. The next 12 months are a key period for the programme, in which we aim to support 200 clients into work. This is a particularly outcomes-focused area of Breaking Barriers' work and an exciting opportunity to develop partnerships with businesses and employers that get refugees into employment or support their journey into work. Together we can meet employers' hiring needs, deliver social impact to the communities they serve and focus on solutions that get refugees into meaningful employment.
The Hiring Coordinator is a recently-established role designed to maximize job outcomes for our refugee clients by acting as a bridge between employment opportunities and work-ready clients. Sitting within the Corporate Partnerships team and based in our Greater Manchester office, this role acts as a focal point for coordination between the Employment teams and our refugee clients, and the Corporate Partnerships team and the employers looking to hire. This role reports into the Senior Employment Partnerships Manager who will identify and broker the relationships with employers across Greater Manchester and Birmingham and lead a strategy that ensures partnerships with businesses result in greater employment outcomes for our clients. You will work together to develop and deliver these opportunities. Your role will be primarily client-focused with an emphasis on developing a deep understanding of our client base, working with refugees directly to apply for roles, navigate recruitment processes and offer a level of in-job support to ensure successful recruitment and retention for refugee candidates. Alongside this, you will work closely with the Corporate Partnerships team and local employers to deliver effective hiring opportunities for refugee candidates.
You will develop and drive forward activity with local businesses that leads to employment opportunities and employability support for people of refugee background in Greater Manchester and Birmingham. This role will ensure we can accelerate our impact for refugee communities and meet our RTOF programme targets for refugee employment support.
Key responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement and coordinate hiring programmes within Breaking Barriers to maximise the number of job opportunities for clients, working closely with the Corporate Partnerships and Employment teams
2. Identify, shortlist and prepare clients for job applications and interviews with businesses
3. Develop and own process improvements between the Employment and Corporate Partnerships teams, with a focus on data management and use of technology
