Valentine’s Day matters, but that doesn’t stop people from putting off plans till the last minute.
Who wants another predictable V-Day? Another box of chocolates, a last-minute bunch of petrol station flowers.
And if you’re thinking of booking into that soppy city centre restaurant again, ordering the same bottle of wine as last year, along with a carbonara and a sorry side of garlic bread, think again.
An intimate Valentine’s cinema is coming to King Street Townhouse. It’s downstairs in the listed cellar space with a unique vaulted brick ceiling and cosy plush leather seats. This luxurious private dining and screening room is set to make for quite the romantic film experience.
You’ll be greeted with a glass of champagne, plenty of popcorn, pick n’ mix and Valentine’s treats like chocolate dipped strawberries and, of course, a feelgood film.
There are film showings throughout January, with Dirty Dancing and Pretty Woman kicking things off, and in February there are all the film favourites you need to get you in the Valentine’s mood. Think Mean Girls, He’s Just Not That Into You, The Notebook and Romeo and Juliet. To check out the January cinema listings, click here.
There will also be showings of 50 First Dates and Magic Mike on Friday 16th February and 17th February so you and your bestie can take turns drooling. Take a healthy sip of champagne whenever Channing pops up shirtless. It’s bound to be a good night.
King Street Tavern has been completely revamped upstairs and is now the perfect New York-style dining venue serving classic favourites crafted from local, market-inspired ingredients alongside smaller sharing plates and the sought-after afternoon tea.
Throughout January you can enjoy sharing plates like the potted crab or corned beef hash and enjoy three for the price of two.
Tickets are priced £30 per person and include a welcome glass of champagne, popcorn, treats and, of course, the film.
