The Great Manchester Run always gets a fantastic turn out, with thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds running for good causes and raising money for their chosen charity.

Sadly, the 2020 event was postponed earlier this year, and will return next May. In the meantime, they have turned their attention to virtual running challenges to help keep people moving.

And now, you can keep running and stay motivated with their new Halloween themed accumulator challenge.

The challenge is to complete 15 runs (or more) of any distance in October. You can run at any pace and distance comfortable for you.

If you manage to complete 15 runs by 31st October, you will receive a special Halloween medal. And, of course, you can fundraise for your chosen charity at the same time if you wish.

To add some extra spice to the cauldron, the challenge also includes an optional distance challenge.

Depending how far you run over your 15 (or more) runs, you will be awarded with a bespoke digital finishers certificate to download and share.

There are three distance challenges to take part in, depending on how far you want to go: blow off the cobwebs (40 miles), ghoul beater (75 miles), and run for your life (125 miles).

The challenge is open now, and costs £10 to join.

Your challenge joining fee includes a unique finishers medal, training plans and tips, and access to an online run tracking tool.

You can either use the Great Manchester Run online tracker to log your runs, or use your own tracking app or device to record your activity.

Once you have completed 15 runs (or more) and your target distance, simply submit your results and confirm that you have completed the challenge

You can join the challenge anytime from now up to Thursday 8th October, when entries close.

Find out more about the challenge and enter here.
