Funzing are making a name for themselves in Manchester as hosts of some of the most exciting and life-affirming events this amazing city has to offer. And this February is no different.
We’ve chosen some of the most engaging events for you to check out, whether you were born and bred in Manchester or if you’ve recently moved here and want to get to grips with one of the most exciting cities in the world.
As it’s February, naturally Valentine’s Day looms large. But instead of going for a standard meal out, or a night in watching romcoms, why not try ‘Valentines and paint’ at The Spoon Inn in Chorlton, hosted by Paint Away Events?
These are unique social painting events, with the emphasis very much on fun. Everyone’s welcome – bring a date or a mate or come alone, you’re guaranteed a good time either way.
For £25 you enter an atmospheric environment thanks to a carefully-chosen soundtrack to help you immerse yourself in painting – the focus is on therapy, and using paint as an escape from our busy lives.
All the equipment is provided, including paint, brushes and an apron – plus props so you can take selfies – as well as drinks, refreshments and some cake to snack on.
All you need to bring is yourself and a willingness to get involved! Of course, you also get a canvas to take home with you to hang on your wall.
It’s an original way to bond with your partner this Valentine’s Day, or simply a way to meet new people or express your creative side, creating a Valentine’s themed work of art guided by an expert tutor.
Or do you fancy really pushing yourself? The Comedy Improve Taster Class is ideal for all those looking to get involved in performing but don’t know where to start.
If you’ve ever been told you’re funny, but don’t know how to harness it, this is the class for you. Or even if you just fancy a night out doing something different, with the added bonus of improving your public speaking skills in a supportive atmosphere where the aim is simple: to have a laugh.
This is a two-hour improv taster session hosted by an experienced performer, geared towards those who’ve never done any kind of comedy improv before, made up of drama games and exercises that are sure to leave you and your fellow participants in fits of giggles.
After all, there’s no better stress relief than laughter.
At just £5 per ticket, this Northern Quarter event is an affordable night out this February, held on Wednesday 19th February from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm, with another chance to go on Wednesday 18th March.
And these are just a fraction of the events that Funzing have to offer. Be sure to take a browse through their Manchester listings and see what takes your fancy.
If painting and improv comedy events aren’t your cup of tea, there undoubtedly will be something in there for you – whether it’s cookery classes, wine tasting, flower arrangement, design training, or even – yes – tea blending workshops.
