Free admission to this Dirty Dancing screening if you show them your melons

For two days only, Old Granada Studios will become a unique cinema experience, so all you movie buffs out there can get excited.

It’ll be screening one of the world’s best loved romantic films – Dirty Dancing. So, if you don’t want to spend your evening searching through your dusty VHS collection, head here instead.

In a nod to the 1987 film’s classic scene, ‘I carried a watermelon’, the first ten people to turn up to the event with one will be granted free entry. People will probably think you’re a little crazy en route but you’ll be getting a complimentary movie night so you can’t complain.

If you’re seeing a new man or lady, this will make a dapper first date.

Tickets to the Dirty Dancing film experience are £14.99 and include entry to the event, a complimentary glass of champagne at the door, waiting service to your table, an extensive selection of cocktails, the option to eat from the Dirty Dancing themed menu, a preshow DJ set, professional dance performances and a VIP seat. There is also a free cocktail up for grabs for anybody brave enough to come dressed as Johnny and Baby.

“This really is a different kind of cinematic experience with much more to offer than a normal film showing,” says event manager, Stuart Barber.

“Lots of couples tend to go to the cinema for Valentine’s Day but we wanted to give them a unique and engaging experience that they wouldn’t forget. Dirty Dancing was the obvious choice. It’s iconic, fun but also very romantic.”

The screening times are as follows:
Friday 10 February: 6:30pm and 9:30pm
Saturday 11 February: 2:30pm, 6:30pm and 9:45pm
