Inspiration:

This session will focus on the museum’s new 2025 Banner Exhibition.  Participants are invited to explore the exhibition and take a deeper dive into the meaning and relevance of the banners on display and how we relate to them.

Inspired by the Wimbledon NUR Womens Guild banner, 1923, we will be exploring the significance of Women’s Guilds in political activity, their history and legacy in relation to rights and progress.

In response to this banner, we will use discussion and textile processes to create individual and collaborative textile pieces reflecting on what the banners mean to us today.

All textile abilities welcome, suitable for 11+ (under 18s must have an accompanying adult).
