Green Island Festival and Sofar Sounds team up for a very special collaborative show presenting some of the best musicians in the North.
Sofar Sounds is all about uncovering hidden gems in unexpected spaces, and Green Island Festival is one of Manchester’s most exciting grassroots celebrations of music and culture – both, dedicated to keeping live music flourishing in Manchester, and platforming emerging musicians you need to know.
On Friday 23rd May they are coming to together to curate an evening that blends the energy of Green Island with the signature intimacy of a Sofar show, up close performances, and a surprise lineup – providing a welcoming space to connect with music lovers across the city.
Kicking off at 7:30pm at a to-be-revealed rooftop destination, the evening will spotlight three incredible acts that Green Island and Sofar Sounds are backing. Expect an evening of genre-blending music, cultural celebration, and community connection, all in a secret location. The event is BYOB so guests are welcome to bring beverages and snacks to enjoy at the show.
Born in Hulme, and now heading into its fifth year, Green Island champions the sounds of the global majority while championing emerging talent from the North. Founded in London, Sofar now boasts a global community, hosting experiences in 400 cities around the world. An eager ear for undiscovered talent they have booked many artists who’ve gone on to become household names – Billie Eilish, Hozier, Leon Bridges and Olivia Dean to name a few.
