Shellshocked

20 June @ 19:30 - 20:30

From £14

From the acclaimed team behind the multi-award-winning Jesus, Jane, Mother and Me and LASH comes Shellshocked—a gripping and haunting new play that dives deep into the psychological aftermath of war.

The horrors of World War Two have left young Wesley broken. But what lies beyond the battlefield may prove even more dangerous. As his mind begins to unravel, the question emerges: can the madness he encounters save him—or destroy him completely?

Following a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Shellshocked is the latest work from Leeds-born playwright Philip Stokes, recognised by the British Library as one of the most culturally significant dramatists of the 21st century.

The production stars Jack Stokes, recipient of the Adelaide Critics Circle Award 2023, alongside Lee Bainbridge, known for his powerful performance in Heroin(e) For Breakfast.

Presented by Richard Jordan Productions, King Brilliant Theatre, 412, Lawrence Batley Theatre, and Harrogate Theatre, Shellshocked is a raw, emotionally charged drama that explores trauma, resilience, and the fragile boundary between sanity and survival.
