Overview

Step into the weird and wonderful world of the human body with Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You, a brand-new interactive science adventure perfect for curious kids and mini medics.

Explore the senses like never before as you journey through a giant ear canal filled with wax, squeeze past sticky snot, and dive deep into Dr Chris’s brain headquarters. Discover how your body really works as you explore the five main senses – touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste – along with some surprising hidden senses, like balance, knowing when to go to the loo and when it’s time for sleep.

This hands-on experience is packed with interactive games, fun challenges and fascinating facts, all guided by videos and illustrations from Operation Ouch! favourites Dr Chris, Dr Xand and Dr Ronx.

Perfect for families, this playful and educational exhibition brings science to life in a way that’s engaging, exciting and packed with gooey fun.

Get ready to:

  • Poke around inside a giant eyeball and bang on an enormous ear drum
  • Take a whiff in the smell library and compete with friends and families to identify a variety of sounds
  • Start your own chain reaction with dominoes to discover how our nerves send messages
  • Test Dr Chris’s reactions to stinky smells, raucous sounds and even a giant tickly feather
  • And get sneezed out of a giant nose

Explore fascinating objects from the Science Museum Group’s collection including:

  • A brain scanning ‘Jedi’ helmet worn by children over 40 years ago
  • Ear trumpets used to improve hearing before hearing aids
  • Coins that were touched by Henry VIII and given to sick people, believed to be a cure
