Manchester Day

26 July

Set to hit all the right notes!

Get ready for a full day of music, fun and free entertainment for all ages as Manchester Day returns in 2025 with a citywide celebration of local talent and this summer’s incredible line-up of live music.

With events taking place across St Ann’s Square, Cathedral Gardens and the surrounding streets, the city will come alive with musical performances, interactive workshops and unexpected surprises throughout the day.

From West End show tunes and juggling drummers to hip-hop wrestling, a giant birdcage with musical cats and a towering canary, this year’s programme is packed with rhythm and colour. You’ll also see the English National Opera joining forces with football fans and community choirs, proving there’s something for everyone – no matter your musical ability.

Visitors can join in strum-along ukulele sessions, spontaneous singalongs and dance to steel pans and ska in the streets. The action continues all day, so arrive early and soak up the atmosphere.

One of the day’s highlights is a mini music parade from St Peter’s Square to Manchester Cathedral, winding its way down Deansgate. Led by two giant Griffins and a flock of fantastical birds, the parade features live music from Jubacana, Manchester Dhol Players, Batala and more, alongside performers from community groups across Greater Manchester.

Whether you want to watch, dance, sing or play, Manchester Day 2025 promises a joyful, music-filled celebration of the city’s vibrant spirit.
