Lass Fest is returning to GRUB from 8th to 12th March 2023 with a full week of events to celebrate International Women’s Day! The festival will celebrate amazing women in Manchester and beyond, with an overarching theme of supporting and promoting feminist founders and female-owned businesses. Guests can expect food, drinks, music, art, shopping, comedy, spoken word, film and more.
As well as the amazing line-up of Lass Fest events, punters will be able to grab grub from local female-owned street food businesses including Bee Kind Bakery, Desert Island Dumplings, Hoi Polloi Street Kitchen, Nina’s Taco Truck, Seitan’s Kebab and Tiny Beast Bakes.
Wednesday the 8th of March
DUMPLING ROLLING MASTERCLASS WITH DESERT ISLAND DUMPLINGS – 7pm

In this masterclass you will learn to roll your own unique fusion dumplings before taking part in speed-rolling challenges and other fun stuff with Lucy from Desert Island Dumplings. All ingredients and materials will be provided to make your own fried cheezburger dumplings and you can stay at GRUB to eat all the delicious dumplings you make.

LONG STORY SHORT – 7pm

This brilliant open-mic storytelling night returns driven by true stories on the specially adapted theme “Family”. An evening of honest entertainment where anything can happen, expect this to be part confessional, part comedic, part therapeutic.

GIRL POWER DISCO BINGO – 7:30pm

At Disco Bingo we combine all your favourite bangers with lyric challenges, karaoke, guess the intro, bottomless brunch and classic bingo hall vibes. What’s not to love? For March the theme is “Girl Power” so you can expect to be singing along to all your female icons; Spice Girls fancy dress is optional but encouraged.

Manchester’s coolest comedy night returns to GRUB with a Lass Fest special lineup, including Olga Koch (The Mash Report, Mock The Week), Jen Ives (Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared), Eleri Morgan (BBC Sesh) and Seeta Wrightson (BBC New Comedy Award nominee). As always the show will be hosted by the ever amazing Amy Gledhill who will make sure you all do indeed have, A Lovely Time.
