John Hegley: Biscuit of Destiny

John Hegley returns to Waterside with his hour-long award-winning show.

The biscuits in the show derive from a phrase used by Romantic Poet, John Keats: ‘a scarcity of biscuit’ and delves into the more eccentric side of Keats; 7 drawings of elephants, myths, discos, daleks, optional community singing and the search for a sense of self-worth.

John Hegley returns to the Waterside with his hour-long award-awarded 2022 Edinburgh show, with John Keats’s hobby horse, elephant drawings and a teacher who made a word of difference. Yes, it took only one word. Alongside a bonus half-hour of older favourites: glasses, dogs, trainspotters and furniture. With opportunities to sing along and possibly to dance.

The show, devised for adults, is not unsuitable for the odd nine-year-old.
