On Friday 15th September, Manchester Art Gallery will play host to a Breastfeeding Celebration day featuring parent and baby activities, themed art, stalls and local offers.
The event is organised by Manchester Local Care Organisation’s Infant Feeding Team and celebrates National Breastfeeding Week, as well as the fifth birthday of the Infant Feeding Team — an NHS citywide service that offers community-based feeding support for parents in the antenatal and postnatal period.
Doors will open from 10:30am at Manchester Art Gallery on Mosley Street and anyone who has a keen interest in breastfeeding is invited to come along and share in the festivities until 2:00pm. The theme for this year’s National Breastfeeding Week was ‘Everyone has a part to play in supporting breastfeeding’ and this celebration day is about exactly that — promoting positivity, awareness and education for all around breastfeeding.
What to Expect on the Day:
Signposting to local support and charities
Baby massage sessions
Baby-wearing dance class
Sensory corner
Soft play area for toddlers
Arts and crafts
So come along parents, little ones and all for a day of positive celebration and knowledge-sharing in support of breastfeeding!
