Ed Sheeran at Jerk Junction in Chorlton for a bite

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran surprised locals in Chorlton this weekend when he popped into popular Caribbean spot Jerk Junction for a meal. Known for hits like Shape of You and Thinking Out Loud, Ed was all smiles as he tucked into some of the joint’s famously flavour-packed dishes.

The team at Jerk Junction were just as buzzing, sharing a photo with the star on Instagram and cheekily captioning it with a nod to Ed’s chart-topper: “When your legs don’t work like they used to before… It’s probably because you’ve had too much Jerk Junction.” Safe to say the internet loved it.

Fans quickly took to social media to express their excitement. One commented, “Never thought I’d be eating jerk chicken next to Ed Sheeran!” Another added, “Ed Sheeran at Jerk Junction? That’s a dream come true!”

Jerk Junction first made waves in Chorlton with their banging jerk chicken, curried goat, rice and peas, and plantain – all cooked with authentic Caribbean flair. But they’ve since branched out across Greater Manchester, with locations in Quayside, MediaCity and, most recently, a brand-new spot in the Trafford Centre, bringing island vibes to shoppers and office workers alike.

It’s no secret that Ed Sheeran loves Manchester, and locals who caught sight of him during his visit said he seemed proper chilled and friendly – no superstar airs and graces, just a bloke enjoying some top-notch grub.

Looks like Ed was thinking out loud… and following his stomach.

Jerk Junction’s clearly doing something right if it’s good enough for one of the biggest music stars in the world. Fancy giving it a try yourself? You can find them in Chorlton, MediaCity, or the Trafford Centre, open daily.
