Easter egg cafe

Sweet-toothed shoppers in Manchester are set for a treat this Easter – the intu Trafford Centre is opening its doors to a cracking new café.

Billed as the world’s first Easter Egg Café, it will look like a giant Easter egg, has chairs that look like Easter eggs and sells – yes, you guessed it – Easter eggs to eat.

Chocolate lovers can watch all their Easter egg dreams come true as ‘eggsperts’ from the centre’s specialist dessert café Haute Dolci and Hey Little Cupcake in Selfridges whip up a range of treats such as brownies, cheesecake, edible gold flecks and ice-cream – all served inside an indulgent Easter egg.

Alison Niven, regional centre director at intu Trafford Centre, said: “Every year our centre is filled with shoppers excited for Easter and buying tasty treats for their loved ones from Hotel Chocolat, Selfridges, John Lewis, Thorntons and more – so we simply wanted to celebrate and enhance the nation’s love for the holiday.

“The launch of the café is just another way we strive to put exciting experiences at the heart of a trip to intu Trafford Centre. We hope shoppers have a fantastic time tucking into the delicious eggs!”

Dessert treats from Haute Dolci will include the Ferrero – a deconstructed cheesecake topped with Nutella, roasted hazelnuts and served with a Nutella syringe, and the Lotus – a deconstructed cheesecake topped with biscoff sauce and Lotus biscuit crumbs, all served inside half a chocolate Easter egg for £7.

The giant gold egg cafe will be nestled in the centre’s Main Dome for just one week from Friday April 12th.

Shoppers who share an image of their visit to the café with the hashtag #Eastereggcafe will be in with a chance of winning a £100 intu Gift Card.

For shoppers not able to visit the Easter Egg café, a delicious range of chocolatey take-away treats are also available at The Shake Lab, upper Orient and Black Milk in Selfridges.

Easter Egg Café, Main Dome, intu Trafford Centre: open Friday 12th April – Saturday 20th April (12-9pm apart from Sunday 14th April when it’ll be open 12noon-6pm).
