Calling all Manchester artists: could your I Love MCR® logo design be on our next t-shirt?

Attention all Manchester artists! I Love MCR® is calling for new t-shirt design submissions – and we need your help.

Last year we worked with local illustrator Mister Woody Woods, who put his own spin on our logo to help us create a limited edition t-shirt to raise funds for those affected by the Manchester Arena terror attack.

The illustration had a flower at the heart of it, with each of the 22 petals representing one of the 22 people who lost their lives.

He said: “It was amazing to be part of Manchester’s creative community working together, creating works inspired by a poem that powerfully expressed the raw emotion felt and the enduring love and strength of the people of Manchester.”

Following the launch of our new line of sustainable organic clothing, we’re looking to collaborate with local talents on some new designs and we’ll be donating 100% of the proceeds to the We Love MCR charity, which works tirelessly to improve the lives and life chances of the people of Manchester.

So whether you’re an illustrator with a passion for fine lines or a hot-to-trot graphic designer, a cheeky doodler or a graffiti whizz, we want to see what you’ve got.

We are looking for designs that reflect your own personal artistic style and show off the things you love about living in Manchester.

Submissions are open from today until 3pm on 28th June. Then we will choose five winning designs to sell for charity in our new organic clothing shop.

Why organic? Because we love Manchester, and we want it to still be here in 100 years.

The new organic line can be recycled again and again. Once an item has been worn out it can be easily and sustainably turned into new products.

Submit your entry to I Love MCR® by post or email by 3pm on 28 June 2019 with name and Instagram handle to: [email protected] or post to I Love Manchester, 426-428 Royal Exchange, St Ann’s Square, Manchester, M2 7EP.

Winners will be announced on 5th July.
