There’s loads to do in Manchester this August Bank Holiday weekend whatever the weather, so why not make get out and make the most of it? And remember, August Bank Holiday may mean summer is nearly over but it also means Christmas isn’t far away. Yay!

Manchester Pride Big Weekend

The annual celebration of LGBT culture and community is back with loads of events and musicians across three stages this year. Taking place mainly on Canal Street and the surrounding area, expect a carnival atmosphere and great music from Friday right through till Monday.  Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Will Young and Katy B are just some of the featured acts, whilst in the Gaydio Dance Arena you’ll be joined by top DJs including Judge Jules and David Dunne. The Sackville Boutique Stage will be home to Heather Peace and throughout the weekend there are markets and an Expo. The famous parade takes place on the Saturday starting at 1pm on Liverpool Road. On Monday, Sackville Gardens will be transformed with a candlelit vigil. You can buy tickets for the whole weekend and also day tickets, with a range of discounts.

Yum Cha brunch at one of Manchester’s most exclusive Chinese restaurants
