It’s an action-packed weekend in and around Manchester. Not only is Liam Gallagher performing at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday, but Britney Spears is bringing her Piece Of Me tour to the Arena. And The Great Northern Ska Festival is coming to Bowlers with headliners Ali Campbell’s UB40 plus Bad Manners, The Manchester Ska Foundation, Lionstar and Esperanza.

People are travelling further afield for music, too. Cotton Clouds Festival is taking place in Saddleworth, whilst the family friendly Just So Festival is happening in Cheshire (complete with a Custard Catwalk!). A Feel Good Festival is coming to Rochdale town centre on Saturday, headlined by Feeder.

If you don’t have tickets or just fancy staying around the city, there’s plenty to get stuck into. Affordable, too – so you can keep saving for Pride Weekend

From a Pride Disco Night Market to Popup Painting and even a massive inflatable assault course, Manchester’s a colourful and creative place.

The Pride Disco Night Market – Levenshulme Market

Celebrate Levenshulme Pride with a special night market on Friday featuring artisan traders and awesome street food at the Levenshulme train station car park. It’s set to be extra colourful, as the best disco outfit wins a prize. There will also be a bustling bar, culinary creations, great gift ideas and face painting. Stalls include Coffee Cranks cooperative, Friends of Ferns, Fritto Italian Street Food and BubbleOff vegan skincare products. There will be music, too, thanks to DJ Rob Bright playing disco tunes well into the evening. This is a community effort with a friendly feel, and an ideal summer evening out. Friday 17th August, 5pm-9pm, Levenshulme Market.
