The Easter weekend always pulls in crowds to the city centre and there’ll be plenty going on – especially on First Street. Whether you’re craving culture, live music, fabulous food and drink, or just looking to stuff your face with chocolate (well, it is Easter after all), First Street is celebrating Easter weekend with a bellyful of offers and activities for all. And it’s conveniently located a stone’s throw from the former site of the iconic Haçienda nightclub and Deansgate Locks.

The Laundrette

Who needs a beach anyway? The Laundrette is bringing the sandy stuff with their first Beach House Brunch of the year this Easter Sunday. This isn’t your average spot for brunch – it’s an Ibiza-themed get together with all-you-can-eat food and drink plus thumping 4 to the floor beats. The eatery is running a tasty treat for teachers this school holiday, too, in the shape of a 20% discount.

Kettlebell Kitchen

Set in the heart of First Street, Kettlebell Kitchen is the perfect place to grab some nutritious, protein-packed food while you are on the go. Health is wealth, but let’s be honest – if you can have a burger and fries for lunch and still be on point with your macros, count us in.

INNSIDE Manchester

Prepared to be wowed as soon as you step inside the glass-fronted doors. The cool and minimalist design of Innside is brightened up by a giant indoor tree, statue of a pink dog and column full of doodles. And if you’re in need of a bite to eat, be sure to make a pitstop at INNSIDE’s restaurant and bar. You’ll be spoilt for choice with their Mediterranean and Asian fusion dishes. Yum.

Indian Tiffin Room

Spice things up at Indian Tiffin Room, where you can sample the delights of authentic street food inspired by the bustling streets of India. With curries, cocktails and coconut desserts, foodies are in for a real treat. Pass the samosas, please.

WOOD Manchester

Simon Wood

The brainchild of MasterChef winner Simon Wood, WOOD Manchester has been getting rave reviews since opening – and for good reason too. The team serves amazing food and features a gorgeous private dining area, chef’s table, and an 18-seat private cinema.

Junkyard Golf Club

Be prepared to gloat at the number of holes-in-one you’ve bagged (despite the cocktails) at Junkyard Golf Club. With three-hole crazy golf courses to choose from and more offers than you can shake your putter at, including half-price golf for students and emergency service workers, the only thing left is to pick your partner. Whilst you’re down there, make sure to check out their new GIF Photo Booth too. We’re a little bit obsessed.

Bunny Jackson’s

Bunny Jackson’s brings a slice of the Deep South to First Street. The New Orleans-inspired juke joint will have you sipping on an Old Fashioned cocktail for just £5 from 4 pm until 7 pm this Good Friday – and every Friday. Now that’s how to start a long weekend.

The Gasworks Brewbar

Head into the Gasworks this weekend for classic pub food, guest kegs, casks and home-brewed beers in a relaxed, industrial setting. Sip on some local beers and ogle the Gasworks stunning beer tanks from your seat at the bar. Plus, there’s free industry shufl on Sundays – so if you’re part of the hospitality gang, just show your payslip at the bar and they’ll take good care of you.

HOME

Amongst the host of film and theatre performances to see at HOME, master storyteller Guillermo del Toro’s fantasy drama The Shape of Water is just the ticket. Billed as his best work since Pan’s Labyrinth, this other-worldly fairy tale is set against the backdrop of Cold War-era America circa 1962 and sure to have you gripped.

Pizza Express

For the times when you’re in need of a quick lunch and nothing but a slice will cut it. Treat yourself to a starter and main from Pizza Express First Street’s Express Lunch menu for just £9.95.

Q-Park First Street

The ‘q’ in Q-Park stands for quality, and this on-site car park certainly lives up to its name. With 700 spots to choose from, Q-Park boasts one of the best value car parks in the city – its striking architectural façade has been known to turn heads as well as offering a secure place to park your car.

Sainsbury’s Local

First Street’s only convenience store is open every day until 11 pm – there for you when everyone else is closed on Sunday.

Starbucks

Open daily for those after a strong caffeine fix, a slice of cake and trusty WiFi, Starbucks First Street has quickly become a staple stop and a place to start or end your day. Take a moment to unwind, meet up with friends or colleagues and enjoy a delicious little something.
