How to switch to green energy AND save money in seconds

Did you know that if just one in every hundred of us switched to green energy, we’d be taking the carbon equivalent of 10,000 cars off the road?

That’s according to The Big Clean Switch Greater Manchester, an innovative social initiative that’s looking to help the people of Greater Manchester power their homes using renewable, clean energy.

The Big Clean Switch is a partnership between campaign group Purpose and renewable energy consultants Clean Energy UK. As well as campaigning to get businesses and organisations across the UK involved in The Big Clean Switch, they’ve also gone the extra mile to find energy suppliers who use 100% renewable energy.

The initiative has ambitious plans to reduce the city’s air pollution and contribution to climate change – and make energy bills cheaper for everyone.

It’s not just homes that are being encouraged to switch. They’re also appealing to businesses, schools, clubs and universities to change to an energy provider that uses wind, solar or wave power, or biofuel.

Making the switch yourself couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is head to The Big Clean Switch website and register your details. From there, you’ll be able to switch your provider over to a clean energy supplier such as Bulb, Tonik or Ecotricity within seconds.

It may seem too good to be true but that really is all there is to it. The Big Switch will connect you to clean energy providers who put the same amount of renewable energy into the National Grid as you pay to take out.

The more people buy their energy from these green energy sellers, the cleaner the National Grid will become.

The Big Clean Switch launched a pilot in September and saw amazing results, with many Mancunians set to save upwards of £290 on their annual energy bill.
