Christmas time is all about mistletoe and wine as Cliff once sang, and he wasn’t wrong. But he forgot to mention the seriously indulgent cocktails which make an appearance at this time of year. Probably because ‘Christmas time, mistletoe and seriously indulgent cocktails’ doesn’t rhyme.

The Brandy Milk Punch at Gaucho

Almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon & cloves mixed together with Courvoisier VSOP. It’s the one with the tipsy-looking gingerbread man.

The Bubble Bath at The Laundrette

A boozy mix of Portobello Road gin, violet liqueur, lemon and apple juice, finished with popping candy and maraschino liqueur foam, and served in a plastic bathtub. Don’t forget the rubber duck.

Judge Fudge at The Liquor Store

@tonephotog

Everyone loves a finger of fudge, apparently. That’s why the flamboyant folks at The Liquor Store have created a luxurious blend of vanilla vodka, white chocolate, ice cream & walnut finished with a squirt of cream and called it Judge Fudge. No relation to Judge Rinder.

Boozy Jammy Doughnut shake at Dive NQ

At Dive NQ, ‘drink responsibly’ means ‘don’t spill it’. Aside from their awesome array of dessert cocktails, they do mega milkshakes with booze in them. This one, Jam Doughnut (£8) consists of raspberry coulis, vanilla gomme, ice cream and full cream milk shaken up and topped with whipped cream and a jam doughnut.

Pistachio Espresso Martini at Banyan Bar & Kitchen

Forget everything you know about standard martinis. Banyan Bar & Kitchen has blended an in-house pistachio syrup mixed with Reyka vodka, Tia Maria coffee liqueur and real espresso. The ultimate pick-me-up when you’ve had enough of the hectic shopping crowds.

Treacle Chase at Cosy Club

Cosy Club is famed for its quintessentially British vibe but that doesn’t mean the menu sticks to the classics. Try the Treacle Chase with Chase GB gin, tickled Vermouth then chased down with apple juice, fig liqueur and a hint of grapefruit. Bob’s your uncle.

Rhubarb Cocktails at Hard Rock Cafe

They’ve been growing an abundance of rhubarb on The Printworks’ renowned rooftop garden this year so what better way to put it to use than in some seriously fruity cocktails?  Beats rhubarb crumble hands down. And if you buy a rhubarb cocktail in Hard Rock over the coming weeks, £1 from each sale will be donated to Manchester Cathedral’s Volunteer Programme.
