The Makers Market is renowned for its events across the North West, featuring specially selected experts who source, grow, rear, bake, make and create the products they sell, which ensures unique and original goods.

This weekend it’s returning with some special attractions and offers for dogs and dog lovers.

Guru Pet Food will be located on Spinningfields Square from Friday until Sunday, giving out free dog food samples. Hey Little Cupcake will be selling dog friendly pupcakes and Smooth Radio will have a ‘doggy lounge’ marquee where owners can take time out to rest on the deckchairs while their dogs recharge on a cosy bed with treats and fresh water, listening to a Smooth Radio soundtrack.

The Garden on Leftbank will be showing two films chosen by the public. Walt Disney’s Lady and the Tramp is up first at 12pm on Saturday and again at 3pm on Sunday, followed by Turner & Hooch at 3pm on Saturday and 12pm Sunday.

Bangers and Bacon will be hosting The Dog House pop-up serving hot dogs for visitors where you can pick up your headphones for the film screenings with a £5 deposit.

Most restaurants in Spinningfields offer dog friendly outdoor seating with Dockyard and The Oasthouse welcoming your pooches indoors. The restaurants will be leaving out water bowls so your pets can rehydrate as you’re browsing the stalls.

With over 90 retailers, there promises to be something for everyone. To ensure cats are included too, the market will even feature one feline themed stall.

So whether you’re after great food, a fun day for the whole family, vintage shopping, unique gifts, a new outfit for your pup or just a look around, The Mutts and Makers Market at Spinningfields is not to be missed.

A social media competition is running on social media until Friday 16 September.  Upload a picture of your dog to be in with a chance of winning a signed copy of Pub Dogs of Manchester by Georgie Glass.
