When you go to Old Trafford regularly, or you’re worrying about Jose’s style of play, or you just can’t wait until half-time to get into the warmth, it’s easy to take for granted what Manchester United and a match at Old Trafford is really about.

And what it means to so many people the world over, most of whom will never get to see a match there.

This hit home with a recent request we received from a guy called Alex Leonhard in the US. Alex’s close friend, Moses Lawer-Yolar, tragically lost his life earlier in the year at the age of 20, without ever fulfilling his ambition of taking a seat in the stands at Old Trafford on a match day.

Moses was a student at West Virginia University and he lived and breathed United. He was always wearing his scarf and making sure he caught every game. But it was always support from afar and he never got the chance to be up close to the team he loved and the ground he dreamt of.

Alex wanted to get a United shirt in memory of Moses and get it to a game at Old Trafford. He contacted us to help fulfil this request. Which if course we gladly did. Moses’ shirt was present at United’s home game against Newcastle.

It was placed in the East Stand Upper facing the Stretford End and present for a fitting, rampant 4-1 win for the home side.

It’s now on its way to Alex in Virginia to be kept as a tribute to Moses.
