MediaCity salon offers free treatments to Arena attack emergency services personnel

A MediaCity salon is hosting a day of free treatments for emergency services personnel  who supported the people of Manchester during the 22nd May terrorist attack on the  Arena.

Beauty For Our Brave is a thank you to the police, ambulance and the fire service for all the hard work they put in and professionalism shown in the aftermath of the attack.

Treatments will be given by The Hair and Beauty Gurus and include pamper experiences such as massages, haircuts, facials, nails and reflexology – all for free.

“I think this terrible event has made us all rethink what we can do to help others,” says organiser Sam Marshall. “I wanted to organise something to thank those amazing people who keep us safe, make us better and go above and beyond on a daily basis.”

The salon be staffed by volunteers throughout the day with two other salons involved – Lush in Cheshire and Andrea Pickford in Warrington.

Massage therapist Vixx said: “I am taking part in Beauty For Our Brave to provide relaxing treatments for those hard working emergency services professionals who want to relax and de-stress or sports massage for those personnel who have aches and pains that they want to get rid of. I know first hand how difficult the job can be as many of my clients – and even my wife – work in the emergency services, and I know that it’s a difficult job with little thanks.”

Other volunteers were also quick to reflect on why they wanted to be involved in giving something back to the emergency services.

HD brows trainer Rachael Hall said: “I am humbled and grateful that I am able to give a little something back and cannot thank Sam enough for organising this great event. I will be available at the Media City salon on Tuesday, 20th June to pamper the brows of the brave!

“To be able to pay tribute to the emergency services who, on a daily basis are true life heroes, but come together in times of chaos, terror and atrocity to save many lives and many many casualties, is an absolute honour.”

Beauty For Our Brave takes place on 20th June 10am-8pm. All treatments can be booked online via the Facebook page.
