It’s National Puppy Day folks. Yes, it’s a thing.

To celebrate we thought we’d put together a list of dog-friendly places to give your canine companion a much needed break from cramped backyards and apartment couches. Whether you fancy a drink or three or a shopping spree, these spots have got you covered. Dogs definitely allowed.

Betty & Butch

Betty & Butch is Manchester’s first one stop dog shop where you will find everything for your pooch from luxury dog soap to dog beer. Yes you read that right. You can find Betty & Butch in Afflecks on the 1st floor next to The Bead Shop. It’s also worth mentioning that Afflecks is now the UK’s first fully dog friendly shopping centre, so you and your four-legged friend can shop till you drop together.

Ezra and Gil

This place is pooch perfection. They even supply water bowls on the steps, so you and your four-legged friend can stay hydrated all stay long. The food is good, the cakes even better, and the fact that it’s dog friendly just gives it the edge. Grab yourself a window seat so you can people watch from your stool while your dog pooch watches at street level.

The Liquor Store

What’s better than a pint on the patio in the summer sun with friends? Well, a pint on the patio in the summer sun with all your friends, of course. Naturally, I’m referring to our fabulously furry pals. The Liquor Store patio gets a lot of sun so they make sure to check that your dog stays hydrated. And a pint for you too, I suppose.

Albert’s Schloss

A new addition to the dog friendly list, this place is the perfect spot for a few cheeky Bavarian beers while watching your dogs play. They also have fabulous food.

North Tea Power

As well as keeping Manchester continuously caffeinated, North Tea Power is also doggo friendly. Not only are they welcome outside, there’s also plenty of space inside for your pooch curl up and snooze away the afternoon while their masters grab a cup of Joe.

The Hilton Hotel

Bet you didn’t expect to see this place on the list. Mancunian canines just got a major accommodation upgrade. The Hilton Hotel is now a pet friendly stopover so your pooch can have as much fun as you on your staycation weekend.

Takk

One of the NQ’s most popular hangouts for young creatives, Takk does great coffee and even better cakes. While you’re picking up something freshly baked for youself inside, you can pick up a treat for your pooch, too.

Bluu

Bluu used to only allow pooches outside but have now extended this welcome to include inside, too. The lovely staff usually welcome pets with a bowl of water and a belly rub too.

Northern Soul Manchester

The bad thing about bringing your dog to Northern Soul is seeing the woeful look in her eyes as she watches you devour a mouthwatering mound of gourmet grilled cheese sarnie. They’ve even got a series of pictures on their Twitter feed capturing the pampered pooches who have popped in.

Thaikhun

Thaikhun is always great with dogs. They have brilliant food, snazzy drinks and a relaxing atmosphere. Plus, they always keep the good stuff flowing for the pooches – and by that, of course, I mean water.
