Manchester Airport is the only airport outside of London with direct routes to China, with Hainan Airlines serving Beijing whilst Cathay Pacific goes to Hong Kong.

So it’s hardly surprising that the UK’s third biggest airport is really getting into the Chinese New Year spirit this week with loads of festivities and fun in the terminals.

A lion dance and traditional Chinese dancers entertained passengers while they waited for their flight to Beijing.

In addition to the entertainment, the airport has decked the terminals out in traditional Chinese lanterns and there are plenty of food offers for you to chomp on and a host of retail offers for passengers.

For anyone not jetting off to China from Manchester Airport, do not fear, as there’s a host of Chinese New Year giveaways on the airport’s social media channels including £75 duty free vouchers, £50 holiday voucher and tour of Concorde to name a few.
