Three unique wristwatches have been launched as part of a new unisex collection which pays homage to Manchester’s heritage and raises funds for a local charity.

The Manchester Collection features designs that focus on different aspects of the city’s heritage – football and music.

Football is the inspiration behind The Stretford and The Kippax, which would make perfect gifts for United and City supporters, whilst 80s music fans can relive their dance floor days with The Whitworth, whose black and yellow strap and gold and black face pay tribute to Manchester’s musical heritage.

socio-watch-co

The range of watches is the brainchild of young Manchester entrepreneur Liam Manton whose Socio Watch Co. is believed to be the world’s first social enterprise watch company.

“I’m passionate about Manchester and been involved in several fund raising initiatives for charities in the past and for this project I’ve teamed up with the We Love MCR charity, who will run the fund for me.

“I’m from north Manchester and particularly wanted to help young people from disadvantaged inner-city communities have a better start in life. Food poverty is a big issue in Manchester with 1 in 4 students attending school without having had a decent meal.  By buying a watch for yourself or as a gift, people can help make a difference.”

The watches are priced at £54.99 with 300 available in each design. £5 from every purchase goes to We Love MCR.

The watches are available only at www.sociomcr.com
