Think Grease, think cool, think popcorn!
‘Float-In Movie’ is the Mancunian version of an American drive-in movie night. It’s two nights of outdoor film at a canal-side, pop-up cinema and it’s FREE.
Yes, Ducie Street Car Park is transformed into a drive-in movie theatre, as two blockbuster’s are screened.
You can drive in, float in (the cinema is right by the canal and designed to be seen from boats as well as cars), or you can just ‘take a hike’ – perfect for a little post-work relaxation.
Starting on Wednesday 22nd August with Captain America (which was filmed in the Northern Quarter because of its New York authenticity)
Then the next day (Thu 23rd Aug) it’s the mysterious shark film: The Life Aquatic.
You’ll need to bring an FM Radio so that you can hear the film.
There will be hot noodles served up by Malaysian restaurant Ning, deck-chairs and a limited bar (Bollington Brewing Co).
The event is free and is not ticketed so it is a first come first serve basis.
Doors open at 6pm (film starts 8.30pm); first come, first served.
In association with The Printworks and Ning.
