Here are our picks of the top 10 most anticipated films due for release this year. We at I Love MCR enjoy nothing more than a midweek night out to the cinema to kick back, relax, throw popcorn at each other as hard as we can (a good hand full a close range to the face works a charm). So get down to the  Odeon Printworks/Trafford Centre, AMC or Cornerhouse, and be sure to see at least one of our recommendations. *Sorry to the cleaners in advance*

The final instalment of the modern adaptation of the Batman franchise is hugely anticipated, and if Batman Begins and The Dark Knight are anything to go by, this with the film release of 2012

Love it or hate it, there’s no escaping Twilight, and its sure to be a box office sensation with the die-hard fans of the series

 3. Skyfall (9th November)

Another franchise hits our top ten, with James Bond 007, played once again by Daniel Craig returning in what promises to be another action packed thrill-ride of sophistication and cool from the ultimate lad

4. Men In Black III (25th May)

The third instalment in the series starting slightly aged Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as intergalactic crime fighters. Expect laughs and thrills in what will promise to be a modern classic

7. Scary Movie 5 (20th April)

A personal favourite series of ours, the Scary Movie franchise takes the mick out of just about every latest horror film in a slap-stick hilarious way, perhaps more of a cult film, not everyone gets the humour, but we love it. Official release details are yet to announced,

8. The Expendables 2 (17th August)

Sylvester Stallone told the LA Times that if The Expendables does well, investors would likely fund a sequel for which he has “an idea ready to go.” He did not reveal any plot details though.

9. The Avengers (4th May)

The Avengers will bring together the super hero team of Marvel Comics characters for the first time ever, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk and more, as they are forced to band together to battle the biggest foe they’ve ever faced.

10. Ice Age: Continental Drift (13th July)

The 4th installment of the “Ice Age” franchise sees Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Scrat frozen solid and accidentally defrosted in a museum in present day.
