Gaucho is a fine Argentinean restaurant just off Deansgate. It glows with authenticity (also aesthetic chandelier lighting) and an arty, American Phsyco esc decor of black, white and hints of red, to set you up for a fine evening.
Gaucho has assurance and attention to obtain the finest quality ingredients to complement their steak. This dedication ensures that every time you visit, you experience the true essence of Argentine life.
Even waiting for a table is a nice experience, with their friendly, warm staff that top you up with drinks and appetising pop-corn like sprinkled with paprika. We recommend a bottle of ‘Rocio Trigo’ which is a tasty wheat beer while you wait to be presented your cow orientated table.
Now it would be sacrilege to dine at Gaucho and not have a steak. They serve it all; rump, sirloin, rib-eye, fillet and serve 225g, 300g and 400g. The price of good steak (which is all they do) ranges from £14 to about £53 and then you’ve got sharers and platters that go upto about £119. You’d have to be daft not to add a sauce, we recommend the Bearnaise. Very tasty.
With any good steak should be a bottle of red as a natural companion. We tried the Christobal which is a very nice oaky, full bodied drop of the red stuff.
You won’t be disappointed.
