Dukes 92, Castlefield: canal-side terrace

Posted on: No Comments

With the weather crackin’ the flags this week, we thought it would be a good idea to introduce and review the best outdoor eating and drinking establishment in Manchester.

Dukes 92 is Manchester’s original bar and grill which has been refurbished and extended three times since its opening in 1991. Dukes is situated in the heart of Castlefield overlooking the Bridgewater canal and within walking distance of Deansgate Locks. Like a spacious version of a typical pub, Dukes is laid back and low-key and has plenty of outdoor space at the front and back.

Like most of the bars in Castlefield this place is for summer drinking, once the sun comes out it suddenly gets very busy!

With its most recent refurbishment Dukes can now properly call itself a venue with two bars, three private events spaces, a grill restaurant, excellent smoking facilities, canal-side terrace and balcony overlooking the canal basin.

Dukes continued appeal relies on its ability to transform from a relaxed, family friendly environment by day to a vibrant and stylish bar and grill by night.

A thoroughly modern addition to Dukes opened in Autumn 2007 is a dedicated space for elegant casual dining that combines high quality food and service with the atmosphere of one of Manchesters most famous bars.
